Who I Teach

A Local Music Teacher in Hurstville for Every Age and Stage

Whether you're five years old picking up an instrument for the first time, a high school student preparing for exams, or an adult finally deciding to learn, every lesson is tailored to your individual goals and learning style.

🎸
Ages 5 – 12

Kids & Primary School

Starting early gives kids a genuine advantage — in music, focus and confidence. Lessons are engaging from the very first session, using songs they know to build real technique without it feeling like study. I'm experienced at keeping young learners motivated and having fun.

Teens & High School

Whether your teen wants to jam with friends, tackle HSC Music, or build serious technique, lessons are structured around their goals. I have experience supporting students through HSC Music performance preparation and graded exam pathways that deliver real, recognised results.

Adults

It's never too late to start — or to pick back up after years away. My adult lessons are entirely pressure-free if that's what you're after, or fully structured with graded curriculum if you want clear milestones. Most adults just want to play the songs they love — and that's exactly where I start.

Your Teacher

Learn from an Experienced Hurstville Music Teacher

I've been teaching guitar and drums full-time for over 20 years, helping hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels develop confidence, technique, and a genuine love of music.

Alongside teaching, I'm an active performing musician, so my lessons are built on both real-world playing experience and proven teaching methods. Whether your goal is to play your favourite songs, prepare for exams, join a band, or simply enjoy making music, I'll help you build the skills to get there.

I teach a wide range of musical styles, including rock, pop, blues, jazz, classical, metal, funk, and contemporary music. Every lesson is tailored to your goals and learning style, because no two students learn in exactly the same way.

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the very first time or returning after years away, I'll help you progress with clear guidance, practical techniques, and lessons that keep you motivated from week to week.

How I Teach

Tailored to the individual. Grounded in proven curriculum.

No two students are taught the same way. Every lesson plan is built around the individual — their goals, their pace, their music — whether they're 5 or 65.

1
Lessons tailored to each student
Goals, learning style, favourite music — every student gets a plan built around them, not a generic textbook approach.
2
AMEB & ANZCA graded pathways
AMEB ANZCA
For students who want formal recognition, I follow AMEB and ANZCA graded curricula — nationally recognised qualifications with clear progression milestones.
3
No exams? No problem
Exam prep is entirely optional. Many students just want to play great music without a syllabus attached — and lessons are built around that too.
Beyond The Lesson

Real stages. Real recordings. Real milestones.

Learning to play is one thing. Having the chance to perform and hear yourself back at a professional level is what turns practice into genuine confidence.

🎤
Live Performance Showcases
Learning an instrument is even more rewarding when you have the chance to share your progress. Students have the opportunity to perform at regular showcase events for family and friends, gaining valuable real-world performance experience in a fun and supportive environment. Performing live helps build confidence, develops stage presence, and gives every student something exciting to work towards.
🎬
Professional Audio & Video Recording
Students are professionally recorded — audio and video — so they can see and hear exactly how far they've come. A tangible record of real progress, and something genuinely impressive to share.
