Guitar, Bass & Drum Lessons for Adults in Hurstville

It's never too late to start, or to pick back up after years away. Lessons can be entirely pressure-free if that's what you're after, or fully structured with a graded curriculum if you want clear milestones — your call.

Why Adults Learn Well With Me

No judgement. Just progress, at your pace.

🕊️

No Pressure, Your Pace

Lessons can be entirely relaxed and pressure-free — there's no exam to sit and no one to impress unless you want there to be.

🎶

Play the Songs You Love

Most adults just want to play the music they've always loved. That's exactly where I start, building technique underneath it.

Structured Pathways If You Want Them

Prefer clear milestones? I teach graded AMEB and ANZCA curricula for adults who want a defined sense of progress too.

Three Instruments

Whatever you've always wanted to play.

Complete beginner or picking up something you played decades ago — every plan starts exactly where you are.

Getting Started

You don't need to buy anything first.

Bring whatever instrument you already have — even something dusted off from years ago — or come to your first lesson empty-handed and we'll talk through options. If you're planning to buy, I'm happy to point you toward reliable, well-priced instruments that suit your goals and budget. There's no need to spend a lot to start well, and I'll never push you toward buying something you don't need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I too old to start learning an instrument?

Not at all. I teach adults well into retirement, and it's genuinely never too late to start — or to come back to it.

I used to play years ago — can I pick it back up?

Very common, and often faster progress than starting from zero. The first lesson is used to find out exactly what you remember and pick up from there.

Can lessons fit around a busy work schedule?

Yes — weekly lessons are booked at a consistent time that works for you, and we can always talk through what fits your week.

How fast will I improve?

That depends entirely on your goals and how often you practise — some adults want steady, relaxed progress, others want to move quickly. Either is fine, and we'll set expectations together.

Can I switch between guitar, bass and drums?

Yes, plenty of adult students explore more than one instrument over time. We can also try a couple during the first lesson if you're undecided.

Where are lessons held?

All lessons are in person at the studio at 96 Queens Rd, Hurstville — an easy trip from Penshurst, Kogarah, Mortdale, Carlton and Beverly Hills.
